Right to rectification

The right to rectification is described under Article 16 of the GDPR, and grants data subject a right to demand the rectification of inaccurate personal data from the data controller without undue delay.

The data controller has to ensure that the incorrect data is erased, rectified or altered. The data subject can also ask for incomplete personal data to be completed.

Fulfillment od the right to rectification can cause a lot of challenges when it comes to operationalization since changing data can have wider consequences on multiple data platforms in an organization.
